The Irish FA Coach Education team was delighted to welcome students from Central China Normal University to Northern Ireland as they undertook the first ever Irish FA International Level 1 Coaching Certificate.
The course took place up at the Ulster University, Jordanstown, and ran for four days.
The participants received their certificates at the National Football Stadium at Windsor Park on Tuesday.
Nigel Best (Coach Education Manager) highlighted the importance of the International Level 1 Certificate, and in particular, the emphasis it has in providing coaches with the much needed tools to teach the breakdown of technical skills to young players.
In addition the theoretical content from the course provides context to the environment of coaching young players. Nigel further congratulated the students from the Central China Normal University for their application on the course and their commitment to coaching development.
He said: “We were delighted to welcome the coaches from China to Belfast to take part in this course. Football is now a global game and it is great to be able to share our knowledge with coaches from this growing market. We hope to build on these connections and to work with Ulster University to develop this innovative programme.”
