They also took part in a laws of the game test and the day ended with the referees running a fitness test. The group will continue to meet throughout the season to receive further training and support.
Referee Manager Lee Tavinder said;
“It’s fantastic to have so many referees who want to develop towards the next level.
“Our key goal for this year is succession planning and we want to have a number of referees in place to step up to every level.
“To have over 40 applicants, double that of 2014, is really encouraging and the commitment of all referees is evident today”.
