NORTHERN Ireland blasted their way to a 4-0 victory over Wales in their opening UEFA U17 European Championship qualifier this afternoon in Estonia.

Stephen Robinson's side grabbed all four goals in a blistering half-an-hour spell.

Sean Mullan opened the scoring after nine minutes before Josh Doherty doubled up just a couple of minutes later.

Mullan was then upended in the area by Welsh defender Samuel Tattum with Jamie McDonagh successfully slotting home the subsequent spot-kick.

And McDonagh fired home his second penalty of the game in the 28th minute after Thomas Burridge fouled Eoghan McCawl.

Northern Ireland face Estonia on Tuesday before concluding their campaign against England on Friday afternoon.
