APPEALS COMMITTEE

Release Date: 03/10/2012

The Irish FA is seeking applications from suitably qualified individuals to serve as an Independent Member of the Appeals Committee.

The Appeals Committee is regulated under Article 15 of the Association’s Articles of Association.  Its remit is to hear and adjudicate on appeals from ‘Players, Officials, Referees, Clubs, Association Members, Organisational Members or Leagues’.

Applicants should not be members of any football club in Northern Ireland and should be able to demonstrate a high level of communication skills along with expertise in:
• Conflict resolution / problem solving
• Chairing Meetings
• An understanding of the structure of football in Northern Ireland

Approximately 20-30 appeals are heard per season by Appeals Boards of 3 members and whilst the commitment will vary from year to year, we would estimate each member may be required to hear appeals on average 4-5 occasions each season.

This is a voluntary role, but actual vouched expenses will be reimbursed.

The completed signed application form must be returned to the Irish Football Association so as to arrive not later than 12 noon on Friday 26 October 2012.     For hand delivered returns, please ensure you are issued with a signed, dated and timed receipt from Reception staff.      Email returns will also be accepted.
