NORTHERN Ireland U21s succumbed to three second half goals as they slipped to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of visitors Macedonia in their latest UEFA qualifier at the Oval.
Stephen Robinson's side got off to a great start after Josh Magennis had headed them in front on 10 minutes from an Andrew Mitchell corner.
Macedonia levelled three minutes into the second half courtesy of a Stefan Spirovski free-kick while, on 72 minutes, Filip Timov edged the visitors into the lead after he got on the end of a David Babunski pass.
Northern Ireland were reduced to ten men in stoppage time following Conor McLaughlin's dismissal for picking up a second yellow card.
But there was still time for Aleksandar Stankov to add a third for Macedonia with a close range finish.
