FINAL PREPARATIONS FOR NI UNDER 17 GIRLS

THIS weekend the Northern Ireland U17 girls play their final preparation games before the squad is announced for the UEFA European Women's Under 17 Championship 2012/13 Qualifying Round Group 2 mini tournament.

The mini tournament will be hosted by Northern Ireland (September 10-15) with the home side taking on England, Italy and Israel.

 

After two outstanding performances away to Estonia, (winning 2-0 and 7-0), Northern Ireland now face much tougher opposition against Scotland, who regularly qualify for U17 and 19 European Finals.

 

Coaches Alison Nicholl and Noel Mitchell will now take the opportunity to look at a few players who were unavailable for the Estonia games. The two friendly matches against Scotland will provide ideal preparation for the games against England, Italy and Israel in September.

 

“We would hope that as many people as possible come along to support the girls and to see the latest group of outstanding young players in the local women's game,” said Alison.
