LINFIELD READY FOR CHAMPIONS LEAGUE TEST

CHAMPIONS League football comes to Northern Ireland tonight as Linfield begin their European campaign against Faroe Islands champions, B36 Torshavn in the first leg of the first preliminary round at Windsor Park (7.45pm kick-off).

Linfield, who won their 51st league title in April, will be looking to take the game to their part-time opponents and get the victory that could help propel them into the second round where AEL Limassol of Cyprus await.

 

Blues manager David Jeffrey said: “We have been drawn against some of the top teams in the draw in the past, and this game is not any easier.  But this match is an opportunity to progress.”
