THE Northern Ireland Fans Team which is heading off to Ukraine on 28 June to represent the country at the sixth annual Eurofan Tournament in Lviv, played a warm-up friendly against Limestone United recently at Seaview.
Limestone United is an anti-sectarian cross community crime prevention football project supported by the Irish FA, PSNI and community organisations who work on interface areas in North Belfast. Limestone United ran out 7-3 winners in a game played in the spirit of fair play and supported by UEFA and EU Peace III.
Northern Ireland Manager, Michael O'Neill praised all involved: "When managed well, football has the power to unite communities and we are proud that our support of Limestone United is making a meaningful difference at community level. The Northern Ireland Fans Team are also great ambassadors and their passionate support of Football For All, helping to use football as a vehicle to promote good relations is to be applauded. I wish both teams well this summer!"
