U21 BOSS PREPARES SCHOOLS’ CUP CHAMPIONS

Release Date: 13/06/2012

NORTHERN Ireland U21 Manager, Stephen Robinson was recently up in the Maiden City at St Columbs College helping the NI Schools’ Cup Champions prepare for the Allen McKinstry British Isles Championships.

The winner of the NI Intermediate Schools’ Cup final every year goes on to represent Northern Ireland in the British Isles Championships, this year it was in Dublin. Last year St Columbs College won both the NI Cup and the British Isles Championships.

Stephen Robinson spent time with the teachers/coaches of the team to go through some good practices that the coaches could use in future sessions, something they found very beneficial.

Coach James Green said: “It was great having the U21 Manager take a session at our school.  He is very impressive and the players and staff all picked up several different things from the day.”

Unfortunately St Columbs were not able to retain their British Isles Championship title in 2012 but will be going into the Northern Ireland Cup next season with the goal of winning it and getting back to compete in the British Isles finals.
