Kids urged to try badminton or hockey – plus football!

The Irish FA Foundation has launched another two multi-sport camps for children.

The camps, which are being staged later this month, are a football/badminton combination in Lisburn and a football/hockey tie-up in Lurgan.

Part of the extensive Hughes Insurance Irish FA Football Camps programme, they will provide both boys and girls aged 5-14 with the opportunity to try new sports and work on transferable skills from within the various sports in a fun, safe and inclusive environment.

The Irish FA Foundation has teamed up with Ulster Badminton and Lurgan Ladies Hockey Club to deliver the multi-sport camps. The football/badminton camp runs from 14-18 August, while the football/hockey initiative is being staged from 21-25 August.

The foundation’s recruitment and retention officer, Kris Lindsay, said: “After the success of our football/tennis camp at Easter we have explored new sports to partner with and are delighted to announce our new multi-sport camps due to take place this month.

"All the children will learn new skills, meet new friends and be active at the camps. I would urge kids to give them a go.”

Hockey sticks and badminton rackets will be provided for those who may need them. For more information contact kris.lindsay@irishfa.com or to book online visit: www.irishfa.com/footballcamps.
