UNDER-17 STAR SCORES WONDER GOAL FOR NORTHERN IRELAND

He may not be too well known amongst Northern Ireland’s green and white army of fans yet, but if Liam Donnelly can continue to score goals like this, it won’t stay that way for long.

In  Northern Ireland’s recent U17 friendly against Scotland, the 16-year old defender collected the ball from his own ‘keeper and running into the space ahead, took the ball into the opposition half.  Using his pace, Donnelly raced past the Scottish midfield, powered through their defence, and had the presence of mind to coolly round the ‘keeper  and roll the ball into an empty net. 

Tyrone born Donnelly, plays for Fulham U18s, after being signed from his home town club Dungannon Swifts.
