FIFA referee Arnold Hunter from Maguiresbridge has been appointed to referee Spain V France in the UEFA U19 Finals currently taking place in Estonia.

The game takes place on Thursday July 12 with an 18.00hrs kick off and will be shown live on Eurosport.

Arnold refereed two games in the Group Stage handling France V Serbia and Spain V Estonia and his commendable performances in these games have resulted in this very prestigious appointment.

Speaking from Tallinn last night Arnie was delighted with his appointment, “The first step was to be retained as one of the four referees required for the semi finals and final and then to receive the appointment as referee for the semi final was a huge bonus. This tournament has provided me with a great learning and development opportunity”

Irish FA Referee Development Officer Alan Snoddy commented, “We were very pleased initially when Arnie was appointed to referee in the finals and he has clearly grasped this opportunity with both hands and we all wish him well in this vital game”

Anyone interested in becoming a referee in the new season is asked to e mail for details of future beginners courses.
