Release Date: 22/10/2012

The creation of Greenisland Football Club in 1995 was borne through the desire of a number of local football enthusiasts to develop young players in a safe, disciplined and fun environment.

This passion for encouraging and developing young footballers continues today through a vibrant Munchkins Skills Development Programme for children aged between 6 and 11 as well as a number of youth teams up to Under 16 level.

In order to deliver on the club’s development plan and meet the demands of increasing player numbers, Greenisland Football Club are interested in recruiting new coaches to be part of their youth development staff.

Coaches should be focused on developing technique and establishing game understanding as opposed to the ‘win at all costs’ ethos.

A minimum of an Irish FA Level One Coaching Award (or a willingness to obtain a Level One within a short period of time) is essential.

All interested coaches should contact Lawrence Gilloway on 07792247902 or Mervyn Montgomery via email at

Greenisland is situated on the southeast coast of County Antrim, on the west side of Belfast Lough, eight miles from Belfast and two miles from Carrickfergus.  The club is based at Greenisland Playing Fields, Glenkeen Avenue, Greenisland, BT38 8ST.  For more information about Greenisland Football Club please visit
