PRIMARY SCHOOLS TOURNAMENT

Release Date: 01/10/2012

LISBURN Distillery Football Club recently held their annual Primary Schools Tournament for Primary 6 teams.

The competition was well organised by Ged Irwin, the Community Relations Liaison Officer for Lisburn Distillery.

Lisa Rickett and Claire Adams from the Irish FA’s Community Relations Department went along to present the teams with prizes which were sponsored by the Department through UEFA Respect funding and the EU Programme for Peace and Reconciliation, part funded by the European Regional Development Fund.

All players received a medal, and everyone enjoyed posing for some photographs.

Ballymacash were awarded the ‘Football for All Fairplay Award’, as they had formed a great team at the last minute to fill in for an absent school.

The winners of the Tournament were St Joseph’s Primary School, and were delighted to lift the trophy.

Well done to all the teams for working hard and showing good sportsmanship.
