THE first of Larne and Carrick’s Irish FA ‘Nutty Krust’ Summer Soccer Schools took place last week at Sandy Bay Playing Fields in Larne.
Local children took part in the coaching sessions, daily skills challenges and World Cup matches. The week was organised by Larne and Carrick’s Grassroots Development Officer Jonathan Michael.
Speaking about the week, Jonathan said: “We have had a great week at Sandy Bay and all the children have really enjoyed the sessions. These Irish FA ‘Nutty Krust’ Summer Soccer Schools are a super way for all children to further develop their skills and they are a positive way to spend free time over the summer holidays.
“It has been encouraging to see the children being active and improving throughout the week. I hope that they have had a really enjoyable week, learnt a lot and that new friendships have been made.”
Jonathan added: “A big thank you must go to my team of Irish FA qualified coaches who worked so hard throughout the week. The team’s enthusiasm and commitment has been amazing, in each session they have challenged every child to reach their full potential as well as making it enjoyable and great credit must go to them.”
During the week the children took part in a daily skills challenge with the four winners meeting in Friday’s final challenge. All the children in attendance at the week received a Nutty Krust goodie bag and a football which was well received.
The Irish FA ‘Nutty Krust Summer Soccer Schools’ are open to boys and girls of all abilities from the ages of 5 to 14. The next Summer Soccer Schools in the Larne and Carrickfergus area will take place at the following venues:
