The Irish FA hosted the first ever PR and marketing workshop for girls’ and women’s football clubs on Wednesday night at the Malone Lodge Hotel (Belfast).

The workshop, the latest in a series of events organised as part of the SCORE Pilot Project, facilitated by Geoff Wilson (Irish FA Head of Marketing and Communications) was aimed at helping clubs build their profile in local and national papers. In addition, Geoff provided club officials with tips on how to write a press release and take print worthy photographs.

Geoff Wilson commented:

“It was fantastic to be able to provide this workshop for girls’ and women’s football clubs in Northern Ireland. The standard of the game is improving greatly at this level and these clubs are working hard to raise their profile throughout the province. All the delegates were extremely enthusiastic and keen to learn”.

Organiser of the workshop, Sara Booth (Irish FA Women’s Domestic Football Manager) commented:

“As part of the SCORE Pilot Project the Irish FA has been working hard to provide resources and opportunities for our clubs to learn as much new information as possible. The workshop delivered by Geoff tonight was fantastic and all the clubs commented about how much they got from the event”.
