The Coca-Cola Women’s Cup Semi-Final draw was made today at Windsor Park, Belfast. Cup holders Crusaders Strikers will play Newbridge Predators, whilst last season’s finalists Glentoran Belfast United face Newry City Ladies.
Speaking at the draw, Crusaders Strikers defender Sara Booth said: “We have previously played against the Predators this season and managed a 2-1 victory, so we are expecting another close game. We will give our all to defend this trophy. They are an excellent side and It should be a great match,” said the ex-Northern Ireland international.
Speaking about the second Semi-Final, Booth continued: “This is potentially another exciting game as Newry City Ladies are a young side with several Northern Ireland youth internationals in their ranks, whilst Glentoran BU boast several senior internationals in their team and have the experience. It should be another tight game.”
Speaking on behalf of sponsor, Coca-Cola HBC Northern Ireland, Katie Hutchinson, Events Manager said:
"It is our pleasure to support women's football though our sponsorship of the Coca-Cola Women's Cup. The skill and talent amongst the players is exceptional, and there is always a huge amount of support from spectators throughout the competition. I wish each team the very best of luck and look forward to an exciting semi final!"
The semi final matches will be played on Monday 21st August (venues to be confirmed).
